Experiment - Aspect to aspect pages

For this process we took six photos from around the school grounds and arranged them in photoshop so that it would be easier for inking. We then took three separate sheets of tracing paper and inked three different parts of shading.

This is when all three of pages are layered over one another and in three different colours.

Experiments - Half drop repeat pug style

So, I decided to make a half drop repeat pattern as the box straight repeat pattern was getting a tad boring all the time.

I got my trusty pug silhouette, and changed the size (to make my life easier) I then wrote down the image pixel height and width (to help later on). I then selected it all and copied it.

I then added the brick offset by clicking filters > other > offset. It then came up with a box where I had to half the horizontal (that I had written down) but kept the vertical at zero so that it would split the pug in half.

split pug (oh no!)

I then pasted the whole pug in the middle of split up pug.

I 'flatten image' the pugs so they were all on one layer, so its easier to make into a pattern.

Once its all one layer, I selected it all then went to edit > define pattern then named it something sensible.

And boom, one mighty fine pug pattern. I opened a new document and went to edit > fill and picked out my pattern.

taa-dah! Pugtastic
